Help with registering as a User
The following information takes a User through the process of registering.
The Jorum User login screen

Click the User Login button.
- If you have already authenticated with your Institution since you last re-started your web browser, this should take you straight into the service providing your Institution has signed a User Licence. You may have already authenticated by logging in to your local portal.
- If you have NOT already authenticated, you will be prompted to do so. This involves specifying which institution you are from and then giving your username and password.
Selecting your home institution
First, specify which institution you wish to authenticate with. If you have not already authenticated, after clicking the login button you should see a drop-down list of institutions. It may look like this:
Choose your own institution from the drop down list and click the "Select" button. Then enter your institutional username and password as requested and click OK. NOTE: If you can't find your own institution listed here, please talk to your local support team for help. Your local authentication system may not be set up in a way that permits access to Jorum. Back to TopRegister as a Contributor
Your institution must have completed a contributor licence in order for a member of staff to become a named contributor. By registering as a Jorum Contributor you will be able to share the resources you have created with other members of staff around the UK.
There are also a few key points you should understand about registering for a Contributor account:
- A nominated person at your institution signs the Jorum Deposit Licence, which names contributors from the institution, which in turn allows the Jorum team to create Contributor accounts.
- The Jorum team can create as many Contributor accounts as you or your project requires. Details of each account you require should be added to the deposit licence.
Upgrading your account to become a Contributor
If you want to upgrade your user account to a contributor, complete the user registration then contact the Jorum helpdesk at support@jorum.ac.uk requesting an account upgrade. Please note: Your institution must have completed a contributor licence in order for a member of staff to become a named contributor. We will then process your request and send account details to each contributor allowing access to the system via the Jorum Contributor Login.
